Luna Acharya: Driving Positive Change at Sodexo

My story with Sodexo began in 2006. I joined as an Executive in the HSE vertical. After six years of proactive contribution, I was entrusted with the managerial responsibilities of ensuring food safety and implementation of organisational standards pan India. My commitment to work won me appreciation from all quarters, gradually offering me new opportunities in the Supply Management vertical. There too, I sharpened my skills, gained new learnings and leveraged my experience to make a noticeable impact. In 2021, I assumed the responsibility of leading the Corporate Responsibility vertical at Sodexo India. My new role has opened new vistas of opportunities and growth for me wherein I take an effort to make a positive impact every day by staying true to Sodexo’s ethos.

We constantly look for ways in which we can give back to the communities we work in, and we pride ourselves on the impact we deliver. Our corporate responsibility approach is manifested in our actions and policies, and partnerships with organisations. We believe in making progress together.

At home, it is my family’s collective responsibility to do our best bit in saving water, electricity and everything possible to conserve our ecosystem. Naturally, when I get to contribute towards the same goal of sustainability but on a far larger pedestal, the feeling is nothing short of exhilaration. 

Sodexo is a globetrotting business. We need to minimise our environmental footprint. Corporate responsibility is integral to our business. It defines how we support the most vulnerable people within the communities where we operate. For me and my team, attaining this goal means getting a bit creative in running our daily operations, and setting the benchmarks in the industry with environmentally friendly policies and recycling efforts. At the end of the day, we are in the business of building a better tomorrow by making a tangible difference to the communities we serve.

Through Sodexo’s CSR policy I feel purposeful in making a positive contribution through high-impact programs, such as fighting hunger and malnutrition, protecting the environment, advocating health and wellness solutions and supporting local communities. By focusing on the above key areas, I feel purposeful in being part of the organisation’s goal to improve the well-being of underprivileged sections of society.
