Sodexo has been ranked, for the eighth consecutive year, as the best-performing company for Economic, Social and Environmental performance in the benchmark RobecoSAM ‘Sustainability Yearbook 2015’ as Industry Leader and Gold Class.

For each industry, the company with the highest score is named the RobecoSAM Industry Leader, and is considered to be the company within its industry that is best prepared to seize the opportunities and manage the risks deriving from economic, social and environmental developments.

Sodexo is once again the only company to earn ‘Gold’ Class in its industry.

“We are very proud to again earn this distinction that confirms that our efforts to contribute to the economic, social and environmental development of the cities, regions and countries where we operate are having an impact on peoples’ lives,” said Damien Verdier, Group Chief Marketing and Strategic Planning Officer.

Sodexo earned the highest score in its industry in both the economic and social pillars - particularly impressive in light of the large number of employees (close to 420,000) and the decentralized nature of its business (32,700 client sites in 80 countries).

“Sodexo, like any company, is defined by the men and women who make up our organization, so human resources are a leading factor that determines our performance,” said Elisabeth Carpentier, Group Chief Human Resources Officer. “By implementing strong policies focused at all levels of the organization, Sodexo becomes stronger, and improves the quality of life of its employees, a fundamental component of their – and our – success.”
